A Nourished Mind Journey

About Vlatka

My name is Vlatka Cesnik and I am a BACP-registered psychotherapeutic counsellor. Alongside my private practice, I work within NHS Talking Therapies, providing Counselling for Depression.

I hold a degree in Nutritional Therapy and a Post-Qualifying Diploma in Eating Disorders, which underpin my holistic approach to mental health and wellbeing. I specialise in working with disordered eating and eating disorders, supporting clients to explore both the emotional and behavioural aspects of their relationship with food.

I have extensive experience in mental health settings, including working within a mental health charity supporting individuals with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, anger and emotional distress. I have also provided counselling within a cancer support service, working with individuals and their families as they navigate the emotional impact of diagnosis and treatment.

Special interest

With my expertise as a qualified Nutritional Therapist, and holding  a diploma in eating disorder counselling, I support individuals in understanding thier relationship with food,  and emotional complexities linked to eating behaviours. I offer a safe and nurturing space where you can explore how food influences your mental and physical health.

My specialised support includes:

  • Exploring the beliefs, habits and narratives that shape a person's realtionship with food
  • Identifying triggers that lead to unhelpful eating patterns
  • Building self-awareness around hunger, fullness, and emotional cues
  • Helping to understand how stress, sleep and emotions infuluence appetite
  • Education around balanced nourishment without promoting diet
  • Exploring self-worth, identity and perfectionism influencing eating behaviours
  • Helping to build confindence

How I work

I work collaboratively, providing a confidential and non-judgmental environment where we can explore your inner world together.

Together, we work towards long-term confidence, flexibility, and a more grounded sense of wellbeing.

My approach is integrative, meaning I blend different therapeutic models to create a personalised experience for you.

By incorporating person-centred, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioural techniques, I aim to help to gain deeper understanding and navigate life's challenges.

 My fee is £70

I work with adults either in person or online (subject to availability).  I also offer short-term counselling (6-10 sessions) at a reduced rate.

Recognising the strong link between nutrition and mental health, I believe counselling is vital for individuals with food-related conditions and disorders to effectively address both physical and psychological needs.
